Cornus foemina

New spring growth of Cornus foemina, commonly called "swamp dogwood."

In autumn the opposite, ovate leaves of Cornus foemina turn golden yellow.
Cornus foemina is a woody shrub, often heavily branched. Mature bark is grey-brown, but the bark of new twigs is a smooth red-brown.
