Serviceberry Fruits

At nearly a decade old, the serviceberry plants are finally producing fruit. The three plants were germinated from seed collected at the Caroline Dormon Nature Preserve. They were planted in the ground in April 2015. You can find them growing in the shade, along the arboretum's drainage channel, near the bitter pecans. Photographs were taken May 15, 2022.

Fruits are small and right now they are varying shades of pink.
