Red Buckeye Seeds

This week we have an abundance of red buckeye seeds on the ground and in the trees. The leathery husks have finally split open, revealing the handsome, oily, shiny seeds.

These seeds were removed from the gravel path and lined up for inspection.

Red buckeye seeds are large, measuring over an inch in length.
The seeds are attractive, with interesting shapes, and they have a nice feel to them. However, do not attempt to eat these seeds. They are poisonous!
