Flaccid Yucca (Yucca flaccida)

It's the middle of November. We typically think of autumn as a time when our deciduous trees lose their leaves and plants slip into dormancy. Although fall isn't celebrated as a season for pretty flowers, we can still find a few in the landscape. This week there is one tall stalk of bell-shaped white flowers in the Centenary College arboretum. We have a modest stand of flaccid yuccas growing under a very large loblolly pine. Only one yucca is flowering. The last recorded flowering occurred in October 2018. You can find that post here.
