Sloe Plum (Prunus umbellata)

There is one sloe plum in the arboretum collection. In 2012, Professor Ed Leuck collected and successfully germinated seeds from the Caroline Dormon Nature Preserve. In April 2015, Professor Leuck had grown a young tree which he planted on the south side of the arboretum.

The sloe plum is pictured center. It has small, light-orange leaves. A nice color set against the reds and greens nearby.
